In 2002 I had my first taste of television production working in the news industry. Before the news, I did graphic design and computer animation. After nine years I left our local news station to shoot, edit, co-host, and produce a long-running fishing show. I remember the first episode I shot while standing on the deck, no land in sight, the feeling of both peacefulness and excitement to be armed with a video camera when the darkness slowly fades into purple and pink skies. There was a lingering light fog over the calm and glass-like water that slowly cleared out to reveal a picturesque new morning destined to be filled with screaming lines and memory cards full of Amberjack and Cobia action. That moment fueled me with the desire to document, capture and create through the eye of a camera. Years later I moved on from that show to freelance with several other outdoor television projects. I have a passion for producing shows and editing compelling videos that grab the attention of a viewer and leave them feeling like they've really gained something from watching.
The name of my freelance company is Bogart Media, named after my extremely talkative African Grey parrot, Bogart.
